Snow Leopard 10.6.2 Released


The 10.6.2 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac, including fixes for:

PC EFI v10.5


New in release:
  • Automatic detection of pci root uid value(for GraphicsEnabler and ethernetbuiltin options) based on parsing DSDT.aml file (if you dont use custom DSDT.aml, you will need to use -pci1 flag in case you have uid=1) .

HPETDevice kext



This kext creates HPET device in ioreg, so you dont need(if you need) to edit DSDT to get it.
You can use it if you want to get HPET device in ioreg and are lazy to edit DSDT.

Intel GMAX3100 and GMA950 Sleep Display Solution


As so many people get problems on GMAX3100 and GMA950 driver for mac os x, and black screen problem, I'm here to share a complete solution which works fine for me after each os update with vanilla kexts.

PC EFI V10.4 Released


New version of chameleon based booter includes these new abilities:

  • GraphicsEnabler now supports Radeon hd 2/3 series too, but only for Leopard
  • GraphicsEnabler now set up bin_image property for all radeon hd cards found in system, should fix 100% fan speed issue.

Just move to the themes folder which is in the extra folder and that folder is in the root of your Mac partition then edit the com.apple.boot.plist which should also be in the extra folder and put the following (with out the quotes)
“<key>Theme</key>
<string>Boot_Camp</string>”

ACPI DSDT Table


I started diving into all this wired ACPI-DSDT stuff. The ACPI-Spec has more than 700 pages! Part of the ACPI is the DSDT. DSDT is an acronym for Differentiated System Description Table. This table contains the Differentiated Definition Block, which supplies the information and configuration information about the base system.

DSDT simple editor v1.2.4



The EvOsx86 team has graciously translated their DSDT app, “DSDTSE” to English recently. For people looking to get into DSDT editing, this is a wonderful toolset to get you started.

x64 Virtual Machine - Sun's Virtual Box


At this point in time neither Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion has a Snow x64 capable build of their software. However, with the release of Sun’s Virtual Box 3.0.4, x64 enabled Snow Leopard

Chameleon 2.0-RC2 is available with new features


New options
GraphicsEnabler will detect your NVIDIA graphics card and setup the necessary device-properties at runtime. These values injected to the IODeviceTree are needed to make the NVIDIA drives working properly. You also need to disable your hardwired device-properties key in your boot.plist (generated by EFIStudio for example) and remove other “enabler” kexts for your graphics card (NVEnabler, Natit, NVinject, etc).
